My Last Lesson.

So unfortunately I will not be riding again until Spring. Have no fear, I’ll find things to post about :]

Yesterday I had the best lesson I’ve ever had on Scooter. He was soft and responsive, and quite a gentleman. He had a few bucking fits when we were flatting, but it was nothing serious.

Jumping was…amazing. He completely ignored the tinsel-covered jumps, got all of his lead changes, and listened to me.

I couldn’t let my last lesson slip by without documentation, so here goes:

I saw people at the barn that I haven’t seen in months. I got to ride the horse I love. I was able to jump said horse without fear. All in all, I think it was a good way to say goodbye.

Oh the joys of riding a hot thoroughbred in the middle of winter.

Scooter has not been able to grasp the idea that he can go slow and still be happy. Everywhere he goes, he wants to go fast. Why canter when you can gallop? Who cares that there are three other riders inside a smallish arena. I don’t know what I’m going to do with him. ;]

Of course, I wouldn’t give up riding him for anything. The little things he does just makes me love him. Hmm that didn’t sound right. Anyways, the way he’s so..upbeat, perky, and excited are so adorable! (once again, that didn’t sound right). Not to mention the way he’ll automatically swap leads!

I’m terribly sorry that I’m on Jack in his picture and behind Leo in his, but I don’t get pictures very often so you should be glad you even got that!

Well lookie here! My first..entry? Yep, entry works.

Basically I’ve been riding for 5 years, jumping for 2.5, and I absolutely love it. I don’t have my own horse, but I take lessons on some great horses. Uhm. I don’t jump that high right now, but keep in mind I’m currently riding a hot, spooky Thoroughbred.
